We are seeking a driven and commercially astute Sales Trader to join a fast-growing, entrepreneurial energy trading firm. You will play a pivotal role on the Trading Desk, managing and executing trades for a diverse portfolio of B2B clients across the UK power and gas markets.

This role combines client-facing sales and market execution, offering a rare opportunity to take ownership of trading flow while engaging directly with TPIs, corporates, and FTSE-listed customers. You’ll work alongside a highly collaborative trading and sales team, contributing to market insights, client strategy, and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute trades in UK power and gas markets on behalf of flexible and route-to-market clients

  • Liaise with TPIs and direct customers to price, execute, and manage trades

  • Build strong client relationships to drive trade flow and increase margin opportunities

  • Deliver market insights and trends to clients and internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with trading, risk, and operations teams to ensure front-to-back execution

  • Contribute to the development of market commentary, trade reports, and pricing tools

  • Represent the client voice on the trading desk, helping align strategy with needs

  • Support junior team members through mentorship and knowledge sharing


About You

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Sales Trading, Origination, or Energy Trading role

  • Strong understanding of UK power and/or gas markets (or similar physical commodities)

  • Confident communicator with excellent commercial acumen

  • Comfortable in a high-paced, client-facing trading environment

  • Self-starter mindset with strong relationship-building skills

  • Degree educated in a relevant field (Economics, Business, Engineering, etc.)
