Job description
Job Title: Senior Authorised Person/Engineer - Data Centres
Location: London - Travel across EMEA will be required
Key Responsibilities
Conduct audits across the UK and Europe to ensure contractual compliance with statutory requirements, legislation, and recognised best practices in electrical engineering.
Keep internal and external stakeholders informed of changes to regulations and industry standards.
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships at all organisational levels, providing clear technical advice and contributing to both scheduled and ad-hoc reporting.
Deliver training, coaching, and competency assessments within your specialist area.
Provide functional line management to team members in designated Safety or Subject Matter Expert positions.
Create, review, and uphold comprehensive electrical safety policies and procedures.
Oversee sub-contractor activities on-site, identifying potential issues early and implementing measures to minimise risk.
Qualifications & Experience
Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status.
NEBOSH or IOSH Level 3 certification.
Demonstrable experience carrying out Electrical Authorised Person (AP) responsibilities.
Proficient in IT, with strong skills in Microsoft Office tools.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Engineering qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 5 or above.
Personal Skills
Proven ability to work collaboratively with engineering leadership teams.
Extensive knowledge of electrical technical regulations and standards.
Strong understanding of electrical and/or mechanical control systems.
Skilled at reading and interpreting construction documentation, including design schematics and control diagrams.
Flexibility and readiness to travel across the EMEA region to support multiple sites.
